Sixth Grade Parent Connection
Parent Connection is an opportunity for 6th grade parents to share,
listen, and ask questions of other 6th grade parents. Have you heard
your kids say that everyone else can but them? Come and find out if
that is true. Each month will have a topic that will be discussed. No
need to sign up ahead of time—you can just show up. Open & free
for all 6th grade parents in the HUHS feeder schools.

Hartford Project Care is Moving Forward And You
Can Help
Hartford Project Care, Inc. is on the move. Since our first strategic
thinking session last November, we have incorporated Hartford Project
Care, established our by-laws, adopted a new mission statement, developed
our vision statements and values, put a Board of Directors in place and
begun the process of attaining non-profit 501(C) 3 status. We are very
proud of our recent accomplishments and plans we have for the future,
but know in many ways this is just the beginning. To continue moving
forward and ensuring youth success, we need the support of our entire
community.
We hope to bring all members of the greater Hartford community together
in an effort to help our youth succeed. In September, 2007, we plan to
hold a training session through the Search Institute where a variety
of people from our community will learn more about the proven methods
of developing successful youth through the 40 Developmental Assets™.
In the fall of 2007, we plan to start a support group for parents of
all sixth graders. Please look for announcements closer to the start
of the 2007-2008 school year.
Preventing at-risk behavior in our youth involves everyone who comes
into contact with them. If we want to ensure the best life possible for
the next generation, it is up to all of us to be a part of the solution.
We need you to be a part of building assets in our youth. Please take
a few moments to consider:
- What young people do you know?
- What asset(s) can you help build?
- Where could you make a difference in the lives of our youth?
- What are you already doing that you could share with community youth
to help ensure their future success?
Asset building is enjoyable and rewarding. If you would like to find
out more about the 40 Developmental Assets™, please follow the link to the Search Institute’s website. If you would like to become involved and/or
support Hartford Project Care, Inc., please contact us at: info@hartfordprojectcare.com.
